STAR Technology Conference Recap

April 20, 2017

The STAR Technology Conference was co-located with NTCA's IP VISION Conference and Expo in St. Louis, April 12-13.

There was a great deal of interest in new products offered by the Association including our whole-home Wi-Fi solutions and smart video security products.

As cyber-security becomes increasingly important, products like VoIP Gateways and Session Border Controllers were also of great interest to attendees.  Be on the lookout for upcoming webinars we plan to offer on these solutions.

With an emphasis on Wi-Fi, the conference featured the latest broadband delivery and networking products that our industry is finding successful for both residential and enterprise applications.   In addition to the informative sessions, Keynote Speaker Michael Weissman with Sckipio Technologies presented the capabilities available through the G.fast virtual fiber solution.  There were also numerous networking opportunities including vendor showcases, a tour of Busch Stadium, and a reception at Budweiser Brew House overlooking the Home of the Cardinals.

As a result of our Members and vendor community who helped develop the content, the surveys indicated the conference was a success.

Here's what a few attendees had to say:

  • "I believe the opportunities at STAR are great.  I love the technology focused, member-driven show."
  • "I like the open forum- particularly meeting and discussing solutions with vendors and other providers."
  • "The sessions were very good.  I enjoyed meeting everyone while continuing my education."

We would like to acknowledge and express our sincere appreciation to the sponsors of the STAR Technology Conference: ESI, Mitel, Avaya, Comtrend, and Zyxel.

Dates and location for the next conference will be announced in the upcoming months.  We hope you will be able to join us!
